Jane Aurich was a renowned figure in the needlepoint industry from approximately 1975 to 2000, celebrated for her exquisite hand-painted needlepoint canvases.
This online platform stands as a tribute to Jane Aurich's artistry, inviting enthusiasts and admirers to immerse themselves in the beauty of her intricate designs and creativity.
Following her recent passing, I, Letitia Aurich, her daughter, have embraced the responsibility of preserving and presenting her diverse collection of artwork. This collection features captivating floral designs, Native American motifs, and enchanting Christmas themes. In my early twenties, I actively managed her business, overseeing canvas reproduction, and representing her at trade shows.
Currently, my focus is on painting 29 different vintage Santa Clauses and 22 4-inch circular Santa faces. The remaining designs will be available in late summer 2024, and I will meticulously showcase each one on the website. I personally paint these canvases, and the entire collection is sold wholesale through individual Needlepoint stores across the US.
Warm regards,
Letitia Jane Aurich
Welcome to our website. My name is Letitia Aurich and I am the proud daughter of the late Jane Aurich, a remarkable woman whose love and passion for art continue to inspire us.
Jane Aurich, my mother, was a prolific needle artist and watercolor painter, whose designs I had the privilege of showcasing at conventions and hotel rooms in my early twenties. We lived together our entire lives, enabling me to witness her creative process firsthand. She was also an avid photographer, planning her subjects meticulously for her artwork.
Her love for watercolor deepened as she aged, and she transitioned from needlepoint to digital art, while her adoration for watercolor remained constant. I am the fortunate owner of over 50 of her beautiful paintings, each piece a testament to her talent and creativity.
Her home was in Tucson, near my aunt, Joy Juarez, who is also an artist. My mother was a compassionate soul, always ready to help desert animals in need. She would nurse them back to health and return them to their natural habitat, a testament to her love for nature and life.
Jane's life was enriched by her pets, a lovebird that often perched on her shoulder, and her small Pomeranian, Oliver. These were her companions, and their happiness was her happiness, second only to her love for her grandchildren.
About five years ago, Jane was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and spent her final years in a memory care center. Joy moved into the same facility, maintaining their lifelong bond until the end.
This website is dedicated to maintaining and promoting Jane's legacy. We hope to inspire others with her artistic genius and her love for life and nature. We invite you to explore her work and join us in celebrating the life of this extraordinary woman.
My journey in the needlepoint industry began at a young age attending TNNA conventions with my mother and brother. While my mother was showcasing her designs in hotels, my brother and I would entertain ourselves by playing in the elevators. As a middle school student, I started painting simple designs for my mother, and by the age of 18, I began accompanying her to conventions. At 20, I independently represented my mother's business, traveling to larger cities. Over time, I expanded the business by hiring and training artists, overseeing operations from Salt Lake City. These artists later supported me at numerous conventions. Needlepoint has always been a part of my life, and now I am embarking on recreating these unique pieces of needle-art on my own.
